We are pleased to announce that Kamla Lewis has joined the Cuyahoga Land Bank as Senior Housing Development Project Manager. Kamla will be responsible for planning and executing new home construction projects. “We are pleased to have as seasoned a professional as Kamla join our development team,” says Dennis Roberts, Director of Programs and Property Management.
Kamla brings experience and a proven track record of success in community development. She served as Director of Neighborhood Stabilization for the City of Shaker Heights for more than 20 years. In that role, she led initiatives to enhance the vitality of Shaker Heights’ housing and neighborhoods. She focused on revitalizing low- and moderate-income areas, including management of the city’s land bank properties.
In addition to her years in municipal government, Kamla has worked at the international level with the United Nations Development Program, in a non-profit setting at the San Francisco Food Bank, at the County level with the Cuyahoga County Board of County Commissioners and at the regional level with the Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA).
Kamla has a B.A. in Political Science from Princeton University and a graduate degree in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge.
