The Cuyahoga Land Bank recently welcomed Ron Pavlovich, CPA, as its new Director of Finance. Pavlovich, a seasoned accounting professional, felt somewhat of a calling when a friend forwarded the Cuyahoga Land Bank’s job posting. “I was looking for a new opportunity – one that married my professional experience with a purpose or ministry, and I felt drawn to the work of the organization,” says Pavlovich.
Pavlovich’s accounting background includes working at companies such as Cohen and Company, as well as serving in an advisory capacity at several small businesses. That experience allowed Pavlovich to serve as an outsourced CFO for small to mid-sized companies globally. “I’ve worked in the private business and for-profit public accounting arena throughout my career,” he says. “I also have experience working with non-profit clients and have served as treasurer of two local non-profit organization’s board of directors.”
Pavlovich holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Akron and earned a Certified Public Accounting license in 1991. Pavlovich, who took over the CFO position when long-time Finance Director Michael DiMartino retired, understands his unique role at the organization. “I plan to support all the departments in creating a good civic environment county-wide,” he says. “My mission is to serve as a fundamental part of this team in eliminating blighted properties and increasing property values throughout Cuyahoga County.”
Since joining the team in June, Pavlovich has been impressed with the scope of projects in which the Cuyahoga Land Bank is involved. “There have been some very high-profile projects making a big economic development impact in the County that could not have come to fruition without the Cuyahoga Land Bank,” he says.
Pavlovich is married to his wife, Cindy, and has four children. When he’s not wearing his accounting hat, he enjoys hiking, walking his dog, and coaching his kids in sports.
