On November 20th, Cuyahoga Land Bank staff, public officials and neighborhood residents watched in awe as two modular homes were set on vacant lots in Maple Heights. The houses, manufactured in Southwest Ohio by Unibilt Custom Homes, were transported to the site and placed on pre-poured foundations.
“This modular home project is an innovative pilot program and the first of its kind for the Cuyahoga Land Bank,” said Cuyahoga Land Bank President Gus Frangos. He then thanked Maple Heights Mayor Annette Blackwell and her team for their leadership and for being a tremendous partner in getting this project off the ground. “We are creatively addressing the need for more affordable new home solutions in Cuyahoga County,” said Frangos. “With an abundance of vacant land throughout inner-ring suburbs, this project will serve as a template for future in-fill housing opportunities.”
A garage, driveway and walkway will be completed in the next phase of the project.
