The Cuyahoga Land Bank recently took part in a heartwarming dedication of a home with the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cleveland. Habitat’s 2017 Apostles Build program brings together churches to build or fully renovate a Habitat for Humanity house and connect that house with a hardworking family. Each church provides a portion of the prayer power, a portion of the funds and a portion of the labor to build a house in partnership with a local family. The idea of going out into the community to serve others, in the way that Jesus’ apostles served, has attracted individuals in many churches around the world, and serves as the basis for the project moniker.
On a rainy Saturday in October, volunteers and friends joined together on Cleveland’s west side to welcome Connie to her new home. More than 212 volunteers donated more than 2,200 work hours renovating the home, which was provided by the Cuyahoga Land Bank.
