Two World War II Veterans made a special visit to the Cuyahoga Land Bank in July to talk to Cuyahoga Land Bank staff about how different the world was 75 years ago. The staff were honored to hear veterans Lou Szabo (right) and William Bristow discuss their individual and shared experiences during the great global conflict.
Now in their 90s, both men enlisted in the U.S. military when they were just 18- and 19-years old. Mr. Bristow saw combat while deployed in Europe during the war. Mr. Szabo served as an engineer in Germany.
The meeting was arranged and moderated by Cuyahoga County Councilman Michael Gallagher, who met and befriended the gentleman at a public meeting and now enjoys breakfast and stories with the men every week.
