The Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization sponsored a Father’s Day History Walk in honor of Judge Raymond L. Pianka, the devoted Housing Court judge and advocate who died unexpectedly in January.
Pianka, who presided for the last 21 years, was the longest-serving judge of Cleveland Housing Court and a passionate and innovative advocate for our community’s neighborhoods. Before he became a judge, Pianka helped found the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization. His love of history was well known.
The history walk kicked off June 18th at the Franklin Reading Garden at the corner of Franklin Boulevard and West 65th Street, and stopped at different locations with historic buildings along Franklin Boulevard, including the West Clinton Historic District and Gordon Square.
The Cuyahoga Land Bank proudly co-sponsored the event.
