BEREA — City Council will meet at 7:30 tonight in a special session.
Mayor Cyril M. Kleem requested the meeting to discuss acquiring property at 818 Thacker Street from the Cuyahoga County Land Reutilization Authority.
The property of more than 1 acre is scheduled to be sold next month at the State Forfeiture Sale. The Land Bank may acquire properties from the sale list at little or no cost, with this land transferring to Berea for $45 plus associated filing fees.
There are buildings on the property that are vacant. The city has shown a willingness to acquire the land for redevelopment purposes.
