State and local officials might have another solution to help with the problems of neighborhood blight, thanks to a multi-state settlement with mortgage-servicing companies.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine spoke Friday with city and county officials at stops in Zanesville and Steubenville about the $25 billion settlement negotiated with five of the nation’s largest mortgage servicers over foreclosure abuses, fraud and unacceptable mortgage practices.
DeWine said he hopes funds received by his office will be used to start addressing those problems. …\
