Shawn Carvin of Trumbull County has been named the new executive director of the Ohio Land Bank Association (OLBA). Shawn has served on the OLBA board of directors since 2018 and is the first executive director for the organization.
Shawn is a native of Warren, Ohio and prior to taking on his new role, he worked for Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership as the Trumbull County Land Bank Director for 10 years. During his time with the Land Bank, it saw tremendous growth and built robust programming to improve Trumbull County communities’ vacancy and eliminate blight.
In his new role, Shawn will work with the 66 land banks statewide with policy work, advocacy and support to build on the growth of the Ohio land bank community.
“I look forward to bringing my experience in land banks to the Ohio Land Bank Association and working with Cuyahoga County and all of the land banks across Ohio to address the needs of their communities. Land banks are an invaluable tool for community revitalization and economic development and I am excited to learn about all of the great work land banks are doing across the State,” said Carvin.
