CLEVELAND (AP) — Twelve Cleveland suburbs will share $1 million in grants to demolish abandoned houses.
The grants were allocated by the Cuyahoga County prosecutor as part of program to tear down dilapidated houses.
Local grants eventually will match nearly $12 million from the Ohio attorney general and allocated to Cuyahoga County as part of a mortgage fraud settlement.
The grants will be administered by the Cuyahoga County land bank working to improve neighborhoods.
The grants range up to $100,000.
