In November 2022, the Cuyahoga Land Bank secured a $9.4 million grant from the Ohio Department of Development’s $150 million new Building Demolition & Site Revitalization Program. The program is designed to help communities in nearly every Ohio county turn blighted properties into cleared land that can attract investment, business, and jobs. Find out how the Land Bank is making those dollars work in our local communities.
Here is just one of more than 430 demolition projects awarded funds by the ODOD Demolition Grant.
Cuyahoga Heights Preparing for Redevelopment Opportunities
As a sub-recipient of the Cuyahoga Land Bank, the Village of Cuyahoga Heights has demolished a vacant warehouse and is working towards full demolition of another warehouse/office building on the site. The Village previously managed the demolition of three other buildings on this site, including a former paint manufacturing facility. The grant funds are enabling the Village to turn a problem property into a 1.3-acre site ready for redevelopment.
