EPA Grant to Help Return Land to Productive Use

The Environmental Protection Agency announced last month the Cuyahoga Land Bank would receive $300,000 in EPA Brownfields funding to assess environmentally unclean industrial and commercial properties in the region. Grants awarded by the EPA’s Brownfield Program provide communities across the country with an opportunity to transform contaminated sites into community assets that attract jobs and achieve broader economic development outcomes while taking advantage of existing infrastructure.

“The Cuyahoga Land Bank is honored to have been selected for a 2019 EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant.  This grant, as with two prior awarded grants, will enable us to identify brownfield sites throughout Cuyahoga County and begin the process of advancing these sites towards revitalization,” said Gus Frangos, President and General Counsel.  “We greatly appreciate the continued support by U.S. EPA of our mission of returning land in Cuyahoga County to productive use.”
