BROOKLYN — With one snip of a pair of scissors, Mayor Richard Balbier cut the ribbon officially opening the Loving Cup Kids Academy of Brooklyn March 21.

The child care center is located in the former Brooklyn branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library on Ridge Road. With the current branch directly in back of the child care center, it’s a win-win for both partners involved.

The building had been vacant for 20 years, and city workers had filled it with everything from confiscated bicycles to construction material.

The $400,000 project was a combined effort of the City of Brooklyn, the Cuyahoga County Land Bank and the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

The Agarwal husband-wife team, who own the string of centers, were on hand to celebrate with city officials and potential clients from the community. The center will be opening for business at 6 a.m. April 1. The hours of operation will be 6 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday.
