Bellaire Puritas Development Corporation (BPDC) is working with the Cuyahoga Land Bank and other community development corporations to make sure that abandoned homes end up in the hands of good owners.
In the Bellaire Puritas neighborhood of Cleveland, the Cuyahoga Land Bank works with BPDC to buy properties that can then be sold to developers who will do a proper job of renovation. This arrangement with the Land Bank improves the quality of housing in the neighborhood and increases housing occupancy so neighbors do not have to look at eyesores or worry about deteriorating housing values on their street.
To date, BPDC has assisted in the development of 14 homes in Cleveland’s Ward 18. Those homes have completed the acquisition and development process and have been sold to new owner-occupiers or rented.
